Brochure

I was tasked with designing a brochure for the Master of Arts in Comparative Studies program. The goal was to create a piece that would both inform and inspire prospective students, highlighting the program’s unique opportunities while making a strong emotional connection.

Overview

The original brochure was uninspiring and not visually appealing.  So I decided to start over with some research about the program.

The Comparative Studies program is designed to broaden students’ perspectives through interdisciplinary learning, drawing from literature, history, art, and culture. The challenge in creating the brochure was to capture the depth and range of the program in a way that felt engaging, visually appealing, and easy to navigate for prospective students considering their graduate school options.

My Approach & Contributions

I developed a creative concept that took readers on a narrative journey, beginning with the image of a student dreaming about her future as a Comparative Arts graduate student.

From there, the brochure guided prospective students through the possibilities of what they could learn and experience in the program, showcasing the richness of interdisciplinary study. I incorporated thoughtful design, compelling visuals, and strategic layout choices to ensure that the flow of the brochure mirrored a student’s journey—culminating in the sense of accomplishment that comes with graduation.

The Results

BYU Brochure

The finished brochure successfully conveyed both the intellectual rigor and the personal rewards of pursuing a master’s degree in Comparative Studies. By framing the program as a journey from aspiration to achievement, the piece resonated with prospective students and effectively communicated the program’s value. The narrative-driven design provided the university with a powerful recruitment tool that elevated the program’s visibility and appeal.

I am impressed with the professionalism and execution of the project by this team. Highly efficient, easy to communicate with and definitely know their craft. Thanks for an incredible result.
